BARTEC plans to divest the Food & BMS (FOOD) business unit in BARTEC Benke GmbH in Gotteszell to Ultrakust GmbH, a company of the Possehl Mittelstandsbeteiligungen (PMB), a Division of the Lübeck-based Possehl Group.
Product launch of two AndroidTM 5G devices for EX1 (Zone 1/21 and Division 1/Class 1) hazardous areas: BARTEC SP9EX1 Smartphone and BARTEC SC9EX1 Smartscanner. The two devices are the newest additions to the BARTEC Smartphone (SP) and Smartscanner (SC) categories. With these devices, BARTEC sets a new standard for connectivity and digitalization in hazardous areas.
The acquisition of Extronics by BARTEC marks a pivotal step in the advancement of digital solutions for explosion-protected environments. Extronics, established in 1992 and recognized for its expertise in industrial IIoT networks and RTLS (Real-Time Location Systems), brings complementary capabilities to BARTEC’s portfolio. This strategic partnership enables both companies to deliver comprehensive digitalization solutions, supporting the process industries’ transition into hazardous areas while aligning with BARTEC's vision of innovation and leadership in explosion protection. Extronics' founder, John Hartley, emphasized the alignment in values and objectives, citing BARTEC as the ideal partner to accelerate market growth and innovation. The collaboration significantly expands BARTEC’s offerings, from infrastructure to mobile devices, enhancing their capacity to meet diverse customer needs. Both companies plan to integrate their R&D efforts to foster innovation, with Extronics joining BARTEC’s Electrical Safety Systems (ESS) business unit as its sixth global location. Looking ahead, the immediate priority is fostering collaboration and cultural alignment between teams. Milestones include joint participation at global trade fairs like ADIPEC 2023 and leveraging shared expertise to deliver impactful solutions. This acquisition underscores BARTEC’s commitment to leading digital transformation in explosion protection, offering end-to-end solutions that empower their customers to achieve their digitalization goals.
This October, our BARTEC team presented its digital solutions in the field of explosion protection at ADIPEC 2023, the leading trade fair for energy production, which took place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates from October 2-5, 2023.
