At BARTEC, supporting young talent and fostering enthusiasm for technology is more than a mission. This summer, two outstanding educational initiatives once again demonstrated the value of hands-on learning and corporate engagement in promoting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) careers among students.
On Friday, July 25, 2025, a very special anniversary was celebrated at the BARTEC site in Bad Mergentheim: 50 years of BARTEC. Around 350 employees and their families came together for this special occasion to look back on half a century of innovation, growth, and solidarity and to raise a glass together.
At the final event of the “Creative Minds” competition on May 19 in Bad Mergentheim, student teams mentored by BARTEC once again secured top placements. The initiative, now in its 22nd year, encourages young people aged 13 to 18 to pursue their interest in STEM subjects through hands-on innovation. BARTEC, a long-standing partner, supported three projects in this year’s competition.
BARTEC was able to congratulate fifteen employees on their many years of dedicated and loyal service to the company.
Karel Neleman is a true BARTEC veteran and has been with the company for over 30 years. His job as Technical Manager is to ensure all produced Ex Equipment comply with the relevant directives and standards and can therefore be brought to market. Karel has found his calling at the Ridderkerk site. In this interview, he explains how explosion protection has changed over the last few decades, the milestones he can look back on and the insights he has gained from his many years of work.
