BARTEC Fosters Young Talents

At BARTEC, supporting young talent and fostering enthusiasm for technology is more than a mission. This summer, two outstanding educational initiatives once again demonstrated the value of hands-on learning and corporate engagement in promoting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) careers among students.

“Hands-on Technology” with Gotteszell Primary School

Seventeen enthusiastic pupils from Gotteszell Primary School took part in the ''Children Explore Technology'' course organized by the association Technik für Kinder (Technology for Children). Under the theme “Hands-on Technology”, the young students explored the fascinating world of electronics over six afternoons.

This valuable initiative was made possible through the support of regional companies. Among other companies, BARTEC played a key role by providing dedicated tutors and financial contributions. Under the expert guidance of BARTEC staff, the children learned how to use soldering irons, identify and work with resistors, and assemble a functioning alternating flasher circuit.  Stefan Seitz, a trainer at BARTEC, emphasized the broader vision behind the initiative: “Maybe one of them will even choose this career path – this course is not a one-off for us.”

Jugendtechnikschule at BARTEC in Bad Mergentheim

BARTEC also hosted the Jugendtechnikschule at its Bad Mergentheim site. Six students from Kopernikus Secondary School explored the world of technology in a professional environment.

As part of the program, the students independently assembled a temperature measurement circuit, linked it to an app, and tested its functionality. They gained hands-on experience with soldering and, in the final step, used laser technology to personalize their completed projects – combining technical skills with creative expression.

The program was supervised by BARTEC trainees Marius Reindel and Debra Nthenya, as well as dual students Hanna Schreck and Hassan Dia. Technical guidance was provided by colleagues Mirco Hohstadt, Andrei Maces, and Franziska Blau from various business units. Valuable insights into career opportunities at BARTEC were offered through personal exchanges with trainers and current trainees.

Daniela Hartsarich, HR Business Partner at BARTEC and co-organizer of the event, summed up the importance of the initiative:“We want to get young people excited about technology at an early age and show them the exciting opportunities that STEM careers offer.”
