In conversation with COBIC-Ex
In our new interview we talk with Chris Pleijsier , COBIC-Ex Co-Founder & ATEX Shop Co-Owner.
How do you see the market for Ex mobile devices evolving?
My take on this is that the market for Ex mobile devices will continue to grow in the coming years, until people eventually will be replaced by (inspection) robots.
Moreover, "User experience" will become even more important (e.g., the look and feel of the devices), which highlights the B2C element in this B2B market. Our clients value using the most up-to-date systems and apps.
This development is reflected by the competitive market for Android mobile devices. All manufacturers offer good-looking 5G Smartphones, equipped with the latest features.
Why do you think demand for Ex-certified mobile devices has increased in recent years?
In my opinion, there are several reasons for this. A reason I'd like to state is that companies have become more aware of the increase in productivity by adopting these devices.
Many of our clients indicate that the alternative to an Ex mobile device is simply using pen and paper. So, Ex mobile devices enable companies to streamline their processes, which results in higher productivity (and thus lower costs), and companies have become more aware of that.
What advantages does COBIC-Ex see in BARTEC’s SP9EX1 smartphone in today’s market?
Good question. As the successor of the popular Pixavi Phone, Bartec made quite an improvement with the SP9. The SP9 competes with the IS540.1 from i.safe, and the Smart Ex 03 DZ1 from Ecom, which represent the best 5G smartphones of today.
The main advantage of the SP9 is its compactness and versatility, as it is lighter and slimmer than its competitors.
In my opinion, this "B2C-ish" characteristic is something customers value, as stated in the first question. Other relevant advantages are the 48MP Camera/4K recording and the certification.
