Intrinsically Safe Barcode Scanners

BARTEC intrinsically safe barcode scanners are ultra-rugged data-capture devices engineered for hazardous and industrial environments, offering 1D/2D scanning, cordless and corded form factors, and global Zone and Division approvals for reliable field operations.

  • Handheld corded and cordless scanners: High-performance omnidirectional engines for fast capture of 1D/2D barcodes, documents and photos in harsh conditions.
  • Smartscanners and compact 5G devices: Lightweight smartscanner units with integrated advanced scan engines and mobile connectivity for real-time workflows.
  • Purpose-built industrial imagers: Devices optimized for long-range scanning, OCR and multi-code capture to streamline logistics and inventory processes.
  • Intrinsic safety and certifications: ATEX, IECEx and NEC/CEC approvals support Zone 1/2, Zone 21/22 and Division 1/2 installations, enabling safe data capture in explosive atmospheres. The product range includes dedicated models for each area classification. Each product is clearly marked based on which zone it can be used in and which certificate it has.
  • Rugged design: IP64–IP68 ratings and MIL‑STD shock resistance ensure durability in dust, splash, drop and extreme-temperature conditions.
  • Superior scanning performance: High-performance scan engines deliver wide range, high first-pass read rates, and the ability to capture multiple barcodes or documents in one trigger pull.
  • Advanced imaging and camera options: Low-light optimized cameras, autofocus, enable visual documentation and remote support alongside barcode capture.
  • Battery life and charging: Long-lasting batteries and enterprise-grade docking/cradle accessories support continuous shift operations and fast turnaround for mobile fleets.
  • Warehouse and logistics: Accelerates inbound/outbound flows, reduces scanning errors, and improves throughput with rapid, accurate scanning in ATEX/IECEx/NEC/CEC-classified warehouses.
  • Field service and inspections: Enables safe, reliable data capture during routine maintenance, safety checks and hot-work permits, with imaging for defect documentation and audit trails.
  • Fuel terminals and chemical plants: Certified scanners ensure compliant operations where ignition risk exists while supporting asset tracking and delivery verification.
  • Mobile workforce productivity: Cordless models and smartscanner options with cellular connectivity provide real-time integration with ERP, WMS and CMMS systems for faster decision-making.

BARTEC explosion proof scanners integrate Zebra data-capture technologies, and are supported by documentation, SDKs and a dedicated support portal for staging, updates, and troubleshooting to simplify deployment and lifecycle management.
