Steinar Grøndal is Vice President Quality & Certification at BARTEC, working with global teams to ensure manufacturing sites and company entities remain fully compliant with quality and certification requirements. His role combines operational excellence with regulatory compliance, safeguarding product integrity and customer trust worldwide.
A recognized expert in explosion protection (Ex), he is an active member of national, European, and international technical committees, contributing to several IEC TC 31 working groups, including flameproof protection (Ex d), pressurized enclosures (Ex p), increased safety (Ex e), and general requirements (IEC 60079-0).
Since 1995, Steinar has worked extensively with Ex products, system design, manufacturing, and certification. He is an IECEx Certified Person with multiple Units of Competence under the IEC 60079 series.
In his writing, he translates complex standards into practical guidance. Beside work, he enjoys family time, boating, motorcycling, and walking his dogs.
